Gilbert Gee, Ph.D. (UCLA)Gilbert C. Gee, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA. He received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Oberlin College, his doctorate in Health Policy and Management from Johns Hopkins University, and post-doctoral training in sociology from Indiana University. His areas of expertise include the topics of stress, environmental exposures, and occupational health on Asian American populations.
Kate Crespi, Ph.D. (UCLA)Dr. Crespi is Professor of Biostatistics at the Fielding School of Public Health at University of California Los Angeles, where she is also affiliated with the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Crespi has published widely in the areas of cancer, obesity and chronic disease. Her statistical methodology interests include design and analysis of randomized trials and longitudinal modeling of chronic disease processes.

Butch De Castro, Ph.D., MSN/MPH, RN (UW)Butch de Castro, Ph.D., is a Professor in the University of Washington Bothell School of Nursing and Health Studies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Science in Nursing from the University of California Los Angeles, his master’s in nursing, his master’s in public health, and his doctorate in philosophy from John Hopkins University, and his post-doctoral research from the University of Illinois. His expertise is in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences and Public Health Nursing.
Angela Rose David, BS (UCLA)Angela Rose David serves as the project manager for HoPES. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Angela started as a research assistant for HoPES and took on this role to cultivate her professional interests in business development and project management. She is on the board of the Council of Young Filipino Americans in Medicine, which focuses on her interests in public health policy and community health engagement.

May Wang, DrPH (UCLA)May Wang, DrPH is a Professor in Department of Community Health Sciences at the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA. She received an undergraduate degree from the National University of Singapore, a master's degree in nutritional science from the University of Texas at Austin, and master's and doctorate degrees in public health from the University of California at Berkeley. After obtaining her doctorate degree, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine where she was trained in the emerging field of pediatric bone health research. Since then, she has conducted research related to child obesity and bone health with a focus on addressing health disparities.
